When Lindi Skin began in 2003, our first question was simple: what does skin going through cancer treatment really need from a skincare product? After meeting with doctors, nurses and patients, the answer was clear: comfort, soothing and calm. People needed more than the creams already on the shelf could give them. So instead of building one product at a time, we built a foundation first. The result is the LSA Complex®, an exclusive blend of concentrated botanicals that every Lindi Skin product is built around.
What does "LSA" stand for?
LSA stands for Lindi Skin Astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is a red carotenoid found in microalgae (it's the same pigment that gives lobsters and salmon their color), and it is one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature. Lindi Skin has used astaxanthin topically since its earliest formulas, and it plays such a central role in our products that we put it in the name.
How the LSA Complex was developed
Working with our advisory team of oncologists, dermatologists and skincare experts, we set strict criteria for every ingredient: it had to be safe for someone undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, and effective at soothing and calming stressed, sensitive skin. Ingredients that didn't meet both standards, including acids, peeling agents, harsh chemicals and metals, were left out. The botanicals that made the cut were chosen for their antioxidant, soothing and calming properties.
